Brampton woman has license suspended after crash in Brant County

Police have laid impaired driving charges against Brampton woman after a crash west of Hamilton on the weekend.

On Sunday shortly after 2:00 a.m., police say officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Hwy 403 in the County of Brant.

Police say one person was arrested and transported to the Norfolk County OPP detachment for testing.

As a reuslt of the crash, Vasuthan Tharmarajah, 32, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration.
  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol.

The vehicle was impounded by police for seven days and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

Tharmarajah is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.
