Civic Holiday in Mississauga: What’s open and closed on Monday, Aug. 5

Here’s what’s open and closed on Thanksgiving Day on Monday, October 14 2024, in Brampton.


Open:
  • Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Not all retailers may open during holidays.
  • Some Shoppers Drug Mart locations, but call ahead to make sure.
  • Some smaller grocery stores, like Rabba.
  • Some restaurants may be open, but call ahead to be sure.
  • Movie theatres
  • Some recreation facilities are open over the Thanksgiving weekend. Call your local recreation centre or 311 to be sure.

Other major malls:

  • Toronto Premium Outlets (9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
  • Square One (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Vaughan Mills (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
  • Eaton Centre (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
  • Pacific Mall (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.)

Closed:

  • Shoppers World.
  • Most major grocery stores.
  • Banks (some banks may also be closed on Sunday, call ahead to be sure)
  • Brampton Library locations are closed on Sunday and Monday.
  • Brampton Animal Shelter.
  • Government offices.
  • City Hall.
  • LCBO locations.
  • All Beer Store locations (open on Sunday).
  • No mail delivery.
  • Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later.
  • Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA).

Peel non-emergency services will be closed. This includes: 

  • Dental Services Contact Centre
  • Early Years and Child Care Services
  • Family Health Call Centre
  • Healthy Sexuality Clinic
  • Needle Exchange Program Mobile Van
  • Ontario Works in Peel
  • Peel Living Office

Transit

  • Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. Major transit terminals including access to lost and found will be closed
  • GO Transit will be on a Saturday schedule
