The Wellspring Big Walk for Cancer Support has become a staple in Brampton but this year, like many other large public events, it will be going virtual.
Funds raised during the Wellspring Chinguacousy-sponsored walk support the needs of the cancer community, which are more dire than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Virtual-Big Walk for Cancer Support will be doing things a little differently at this year’s event on Sunday, Oct. 17, but will still allow the community to come together in a show of support.
People will be able to join individually, as a full team or by joining an existing team. They will participate in activities of their choice while raising much-needed funds in support of those living with cancer and their loved ones.
The fundraising goal is $100,000 and the money will be used to provide specialized supportive-care programming that has been proven to help thousands of people take an active role in controlling and overcoming their cancer experience.
