Brampton trucker investigated after crash kills mother, daughter in Manitoba

The RCMP indicate charges are pending against a Brampton trucker after a woman and her daughter were killed in a highway crash in rural Manitoba.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near the town of Altona about 100 km south of Winnipeg around 7 p.m. on Nov. 15
An investigation by Pembina Valley RCMP found that a semi-trailer travelling eastbound on Provincial Road 201 failed to stop at the intersection with Provincial Road 306 and collided with an SUV.
A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 8-year-old daughter was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
The 25-year-old male driver of the truck was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.
Police say no charges have been laid yet, but are expected.
