Brampton teen busted for speeding nearly 150 km/h on Hwy 401: Police

A Brampton teen is facing several charges after being allegedly busted driving nearly 150 km per hour in London on the weekend.

On Saturday, the OPP say officers from the Middlesex County detachment were on patrol around 2:20 a.m. when they witnessed a driver speeding on Hwy 401 near the Thames Centre in London.

Police say the driver, a 19-year-old from Brampton, was driving 149 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The Brampton teen has been charged with a handful of changes under the Highway Traffic Act, including:

  • Speeding
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to signal – lane change
  • Fail to surrender insurance card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

Police have not released any additional details of the incident or the identity of the driver.
