Today (October 26), the agreement to rename the Brampton Soccer Centre, located at 1495 Sandalwood Parkway East, was officially finalized.
The soccer centre will now be called Save Max Sports Centre.
Back in September, Brampton City Council approved a 15-year agreement between the City and Save Max Real Estate Inc. for exterior naming rights to the Brampton Soccer Centre for $2,512,500.
This move is in line with Brampton’s sponsorship strategy, which was approved by City Council in March 2019 and will provide a means of generating new revenues to offset costs associated with the operations and future enhancements of that facility.
Additionally, the revenue from the naming rights will help to offset some of the increased costs associated with providing greater service to residents, as opposed to passing the cost on to taxpayers.
Over the next few months, the City will begin by changing the exterior and road signage, wayfinding, administrative and promotional materials.
Save Max Real Estate Inc. will be sponsoring a free after-school drop-in basketball program to Brampton youth ages 10 to 13 at the Save Max Sports Centre, to give back to the community.
“I am pleased to announce that the Brampton Soccer Centre will soon be renamed Save Max Sports Centre,” said Mayor Patrick Brown.
“This is a significant step forward for the City and a substantial community investment. We have heard from residents about finding non-tax revenue sources with minimal impact on residents.”
