Brampton shooting victim dead on scene: police

One person is dead after a daylight shooting in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police (PRP) say officers were called to a residential area nearWanless Drive and Hurontario Street around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of a shooting.
A police spokesperson told reporters that when officers arrived on scene they located a victim suffering from signs of trauma outside a home.
Police confirmed that one person was shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports the victim was a male in his 20s.
Peel Paramedics confirmed that first responders were called to the area but said no one was transported to hospital.
The PRP Homicide Bureau has been called in to investigate and police are scheduled to give an update shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police said a vehicle was seen fleeing the area after the shooting, but investigators have not released a vehicle description or any suspect information.
No other injuries were reported in the incident, and police have not released details on the victim.
