Just before 8:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police say officers were called to the intersection of Sandalwood Parkway East and Richvale Road North in Brampton for reports of a crash.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision and one of the vehicles left the roadway and struck a pedestrian.
Police say the victim is a girl under the age of 12 and she was taken to a local trauma centre with serious injuries.
The girl’s parents have been notified about the incident.
The girl’s injuries were serious but non-life threatening according to police, and the drivers of both vehicles remained on scene following the crash.
Peel Regional Police have closed the intersection at Sandalwood and Richvale while the Major Collision Bureau investigates the crash “for an undetermined amount of time.”
