Disc golf, as it’s officially known, or colloquially Frisbee golf, is undergoing a small renaissance this summer as a safe, socially-distanced activity almost anyone can participate in.

The City of Brampton is offering residents a free opportunity to learn the rules of the game and how to throw a disc with an Introduction to Disc Golf course.

After the lesson, participants will head out as a family or group to play on the established course at White Spruce Park.

People are welcome to play for as long as they would like once the introduction is complete.

Disc golf is a game in which players attempt to throw a disc from a tee box into a standing basket hole. It is played using rules similar to golf.

Each person in the group or family must register individually. Participants age 10 and under must have someone at least age 14 to keep an eye on them. Discs will be provided or you can bring your own.

Outdoor athletic shoes or hiking shoes are recommended. This program occurs outdoors, please dress for the weather. This program may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays at White Spruce Park. Classes are from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. and 6:15 to 7 p.m.

Register online using an existing or new City of Brampton Recreation registration account.
