Brampton neighbourhood reporting over 5% COVID-19 positivity

One area in Brampton is among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.
Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of August 15 to 21.
Of the top 50 listed, one is in Brampton: Postal code L6S (area of Williams Pkwy and Bramalea Rd), which is reporting 5.59% positivity.
L6S is the area with the 50h highest COVID-19 positivity in Ontario.
The same data for the week indicates that out of all of Ontario’s 34 public health units, Peel Region (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon) has the third worst COVID-19 percent positivity in the province, higher than Ontario overall.
For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of August 15 was 2.9%, up 0.6% from the previous week.
According to ICES, the overall percent positivity in Ontario has increased steadily over the past month, with five public health units having the highest positivity: Windsor-Essex County, Hamilton, Peel, Middlesex-London, and York.
