The flags in front of city hall will sit at half-mast to honour the memory of Madelaine Crevier, an assistant division chief with Brampton Fire and Emergency Services and mother of two.

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) Assistant Division Chief Madelaine “Maddie” Crevier died last Wednesday “peacefully and surrounded by her family at home,” according to her obituary.

A member of the BFES team since 2009, the 37-year-old is survived by her husband Darryl MacDonald and was a mother to Sloane and Gordie.

“Maddie will be in our hearts and souls for eternity,” her obituary reads. “Her smile, sense of humour and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed.”

An active-duty funeral is being held for Crevier on Thursday (Aug. 17), and the City of Brampton is paying tribute to Crevier by lowering the flags at city hall to half-mast until sunset on Wednesday.
