Brampton Men Arrested for Carrying Guns and Drugs at Traffic Stop

Peel Regional Police have charged two Brampton men with a firearms related offences.

According to police on Monday, February 11, 2019, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cape Dorset Crescent and Kootenay Place. During the traffic stop officers observed a quantity of marijuana readily available to the driver and as a result of a search conducted under the Cannabis Control Act, a loaded handgun was located.Two Brampton men were charged with the following offenses:

Cyprian Osei, 25, was charged with the following:

  • Have Care and Control of Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available.
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm.
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm.
  • Use of Plate Not Authorized for Motor Vehicle

 Stanley Akhinagba, 24, was charged with the following:

  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm.
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

Both men appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to answer the charges on February 12.
