Patience paid off for a Brampton man with a $100,000 lottery pay day.
Brampton resident Friedrich Jolly says he’s been playing the lottery for 25 years. His favourite game is LOTTO 6/49, and he says and he always picks the Encore when playing.
Jolly matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the May 25, 2022 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000.
“When I checked my ticket at the store and saw the Big Winner screen I thought “What? Is this true?’,” Jolly said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
The Brampton winner says he plans to start his own business with his winnings and will also share some with his family.
“I can’t explain how incredible this feels,” he said. “It’s amazing to think this happened to me. All I can say is, wow.”
Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1.00, with a draw every day.
OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, with prize winners between $1,000 and $49,999.90 encouraged to submit their claims online or mail them.
Submitting claims online is fast, secure and enables OLG to process the claim in a timely manner. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.
Jolly’s winning ticket was purchased on Convenience Access on Williams Parkway in Brampton.
