Brampton man faces sexual assault charge that happened on New Year’s Eve

A Brampton man is facing a sexual assault charge, in relation to an alleged attack that happened on New Year’s Eve.
Peel Regional Police says that investigators from its 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have determined that a female victim was walking on neighbourhood sidewalks and trails in the area of Torbram Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard in Brampton around 10 p.m. on Dec. 31. A lone male suspect approached her from behind. The suspect sexually assaulted the female and exposed himself before fleeing the area. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Manvir Singh Sandhu. The 33-year-old Sandhu has been arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault and indecent act.
He was held for a bail hearing and has appeared in a Brampton court.
