A Brampton man already facing sexual assault charges, now has been accused of committing indecent acts.
Peel Regional Police say on two consecutive days in December a girl under the age of 17 went to a fast-food restaurant in the area of Sandalwood Pkwy. and Conestoga Dr. On both occasions police allege a man performed an indecent act in front of the girl.
Following an investigation, police on Jan. 12 arrested Shane Blackwood, 36, of Brampton and charged him with two counts of committing an indecent act. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
At the time of his arrest, Blackwood was also facing charges for an alleged sexual assault involving a female under the age of 17. As well, he was also on a form of judicial release from two other allegations of indecent acts for which he was charged in 2022.
Police believe there may be other crime victims and have released a photo of the man charged.
Investigators urge other possible victims to come forward and contact them at the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 3410. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.
