A native Bramptonian is coming home to take charge of the books.
Todd Kyle has been named Brampton Library’s new chief executive officer, bringing a decade of experience with him as he leaves his post as chief executive officer of the Newmarket Public Library.
“I’m so excited to be moving to a dynamic, growing, and diverse institution like Brampton Library,” Kyle said. “I was born in Brampton and raised my young children here, so this is a sort of homecoming for me. I look forward to working with the staff, Library Board, and City Council on making the library an even more accessible, connected, and integral part of the Brampton community. More than ever, libraries are crucial to the vision of a smarter, sustainable, and equitable future. I know Brampton Library is ready for the challenges our future holds.”
As well as his role in Newmarket, Kyle has also served as past president of the Ontario Library Association.
Brampton Library Board Chair Jaipaul Massey-Singh said that he is pleased with Kyle’s appointment. “We look forward to working together in our commitment to support our residents and inspire connections across this great city,” he said.
