Brampton is Set to Host An Exciting Event in 2020

If you’re a big fan of marathon running, then Canada’s ninth largest city may have just what you’re looking for.

The city is set to host the Brampton Half Marathon next year, specifically on the weekend of June 13 to 14, 2020. Mayor Patrick Brown is set to make the official announcement of the marathon on Thursday, September 26. The run is held in partnership with Landmark Sport Group.

All the money raised will help support local charities Boys and Girls Club of Peel, Free For All Foundation, Kay Blair Hospice, Knights Table, Peel Children’s Aid Foundation, Peel Region Chapter of Autism Ontario, Seva Food Bank, United Achievers’ Community Services.

The Half Marathon is expected to be a full weekend of events and activities starting with a Runners Expo on June 13, where runners will be able to visit exhibitor booths featuring sponsors, merchandise, running apparel and accessories, nutritional fitness products and samples 

The race begins on June 14 at 8:00am with runners having the option of running the half marathon or a 10k run. Mount Pleasant Village will serve as both the start and finish lines.A single loop course will take runners through the west end of the city with beautiful farmland along Heritage Road and Lionhead Golf Club. Anticpated road closures will be announced at a later date.

There will be a free shuttle service operating for both participants of the run and spectators. Parking will also be available at the Mount Pleasant GO station’s south lot.
