With Ramadan coming to a close, Brampton is inviting all residents to join family and friends for the City’s Eid celebrations this weekend.
Also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, Eid is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Muslims and marks the end of fasting for the holy month of Ramadan.
Plans are underway for Brampton’s annual Eid event at Gage Park on Sunday (April 23) which will include a stage show, fun-filled family activities, free giveaways, and Halal food trucks and market vendors on site for purchase.
The City is inviting residents to take in the festivities and bring a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy for donations in support of local organizations.
“Eid ul Fitr is a time to gather and celebrate with family, friends, and community. To continue the spirit of giving back, attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy in support of the local food bank and women’s shelter,” the City said in a release.
The City of Brampton’s Eid celebrations run on Sunday at Gage Park from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. For more information visit www.Brampton.ca.
