A Brampton father says he was in shock after taking home a $100,000 win playing Lotto Max last month.

Perry Bennett is a 53-year-old machine operator from Brampton who has been playing the lottery off and on for about 30 years.

Bennett said he had to do a double take when checking the numbers on a Lotto Max draw from last month when he discovered he’d matched all the Encore numbers.

My mind started racing with possibilities,” he said while picking up his prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The Brampton father said he plans to put his winnings aside for retirement and share with his partner and daughter.

“It’s so nice to win this money while I am at a sensible age of 53. I won’t run out and waste any money,” Bennett said.

He said the win is “surreal” and feels like a dream.

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, with prize winners between $1,000 and $49,999.90 encouraged to submit their claims online or mail them.

Submitting claims online is fast, secure and enables OLG to process the claim in a timely manner. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.

The winning ticket was purchased at Food Basics on Vodden Street in Brampton.
