An award-winning boxing coach has been hit with over 50 charges after allegedly making child pornography and sexually assaulting minors during a more than 20-year career in Brampton.
An arrest was made on March 27 by Peel Regional Police after investigators looked into historical sexual assault allegations tied to Brampton’s King of the Ring boxing club.
And while no details of the alleged assaults have been disclosed, police say they are concerned that there are potential victims who haven’t contacted police.
Police say a 68-year-old man from Wasaga Beach was arrested and has been charged with 52 offences including sexual assault, sexual interference, corrupting a minor, and making child pornography.
Ajaz Khan, 68, of Wasaga Beach has been charged with dozens of offences. Police have not said whether the accused has been released, or when he is scheduled to make a court appearance.
As the owner and president of the King of the Ring boxing club in Brampton, Khan has been active in the Brampton boxing community for over 20 years.
The club has won the Brampton Cup boxing tournament two years in a row.
“Our mission is to provide a fun, entertaining, educational, friendly and inviting, functional and innovative fitness experience through boxing and bootcamp,” reads a description of the club on its Facebook page.
