Book ice time, basketball courts or soccer pitch with smartphone app in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon

Booking time on the rink, court or pitch in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon just got a little easier thanks to a smartphone app from Sports Illustrated.

The reservation app is called CatchCorner, and lets users reserve time by the hour at various recreation centres and sportsplexes. The app, backed by Sports Illustrated, was launched in 2019 by Canadian siblings Jonathan and Maya Azouri. It currently features several reservation options for booking sports facilities in Peel Region.

Mississauga has the most options available for booking, including indoor basketball courts at Kings Courts Sismet, the soccer pitch at Mississauga Stadium and the virtual driving range at Next Golf Mississauga.

As for basketball in Brampton, Playground Brampton is the only facility currently on the app while Caledon has four facilities available including the newly upgraded Caledon East Community Centre and the Mayfield Recreation Complex.

On top of reservations, the app also features scheduling for pick-up games of hockey, soccer and basketball with plans to add classes and leagues to the available features.

Signing up for the app takes only a few minutes and while booking rates vary, CatchCorner says no fees are added to rentals that can be made directly with a facility.
