At least one bingo hall in Durham is on board for re-opening this Friday, while another will open for Vegas-style gaming machines and Play-On-Demand games only.

Red Barn, a ‘community’ bingo hall located near Simcoe Street and Taunton Road in north Oshawa, is jumping right to three-a-day sessions on July 16.

Game times will be 12:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The hall is restricted to 104 players only at each session – 50 per cent capacity.

Upon arrival, customers will be greeted by an attendant at the front entrance to ensure social distancing is adhered to and customers will be seated six feet from each other. Where this is not possible, sneeze guards will be placed in the middle of shared tables.

Delta Bingo & Gaming Hall in Pickering, part of a chain of bingo halls stretching from Sudbury to Washington, DC, hasn’t announced when the Bingo side of their business will return.

They will be open for business Friday for Vegas-style gaming machines, however, with the same capacity restrictions as Red Barn.

Face masks are mandatory inside every Delta Bingo location and there will be no in-and-out privileges. Contact information will be required to enter for contact tracing purposes.

In a statement, Delta officials say they have used recent closures as an “opportunity” to clean and sanitize the facilities and develop a reopening plan that ensures the health and safety of every visitor.

“Working with government officials and public health experts, we’ve restructured operations and implemented crucial safety measures to ensure we are providing the safest gaming experience possible.”
