A Brampton man has been handed a big prize after purchasing a Lotto Max quick pick.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said in a news release Thursday that 23-year-old Eli Porte won the second prize in the July 23 Lotto Max draw.
He is now taking home $132,165.90.
Porte bought the ticket on OLG.ca and he later received an email saying that he won.
“The news left me shaking and tearing up,” he said in the release.
“I shared the news with my parents, family, and coworkers. They were all so happy for me.”
Porte plans to pay off his car and invest with the money.
He said the win is “life changing.”
Porte has been playing the lottery with the OLG for about a year and this is his first big win, the release said.
Meanwhile, the jackpot for Friday’s Lotto Max draw stands at a record-breaking $75 million.
