Award-winning international speaker, best-selling author and social entrepreneur, Samra Zafar, will be coming to Brampton to share her inspirational story along with her co-author, Meg Masters and Taranum Khan, PhD.
Zafar, who escaped a decade of abuse and life as a child bride in Canada, shares her story in her book entitled, A Good Wife: Escaping the Life I Never Chose.
She later pursued her education while working multiple jobs as a single mother and completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics, along with starting a non-profit organization called Brave Beginnings to help to mentor other abuse survivors.
Zafar’s book is the first memoir to be selected as the one book that all of Brampton can read and share together.
This free event will take place on November 19, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Springdale Branch Library in Brampton.
Her discussion will be followed by an audience, Q&A, book signing and light refreshments.
