UPDATE: ‘Barricaded person’ inside home in Stoney Creek

While information is scant, a person barricaded themselves inside of a home in Stoney Creek on Wednesday.

The Hamilton Police asked the public shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 6) to avoid the area around Mistywood and Paramount drives, just east of the Red Hill Valley Parkway. A social media post said that officers are “negotiating” with the person to leave the residence.

Shortly before 5 p.m., police said a “peaceful conclusion” was reached.

Police have brought this situation to a peaceful conclusion.

There was no immediate further elaboration as to why the individual had gone inside of the home.
