Back-to-school tweaks to transit and Züm routes coming for Brampton riders

The city is shaking up the timing of transit routes across the city just in time for back-to-school season, including tweaks to Züm lines that will help transit drivers move riders through Brampton safely and on time.

The changes will come into effect at the start of September with changes to multiple Brampton Transit, Züm and BT On Demand routes, including peak and midday service adjustments on the 501 Züm.

Here are all the changes coming to Brampton Transit routes next month:

200 Series Secondary School Specials

• Routes resume Tuesday, Sept. 3
• School Extras have been added to:
  • 4 Chinguacousy
  • 7 Kennedy
  • 9 Vodden
  • 29 Williams
  • 32 Father Tobin

501 Züm Queen

• Weekday A.M. peak service:
  • Eastbound: 5 minutes
  • Westbound: 10 minutes
• Weekday P.M. peak service:
  • ​Eastbound: 10 minutes
  • Westbound: 5 minutes
• Midday service:
  • ​Eastbound: 10 minutes
  • Westbound: 10 minutes

561 Züm Queen West

• Weekday A.M./P.M. peak service frequency adjusted to 15 minutes
• Weekday midday service frequency adjusted to 20 minutes

8 Centre

• Weekday A.M. peak and midday service frequency adjusted to 35 minutes
• Weekday P.M. peak frequency adjusted to 37 minutes
• Saturday day service frequency adjusted:
  • 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: 45 minutes
  • 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: 35 minutes

BT On Demand

• Weekday A.M. service adjusted to operate between 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
• Service will no longer operate between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Weekday P.M. and evening service adjusted to operate between 2:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

199 UTM Express

• Service resumes from Brampton Gateway Terminal to University of Toronto, Mississauga
  • Southbound service: 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • Northbound service: 2:50 pm, 3:50 p.m. and 4:50 p.m.
