Baby and 2 adults die in a crash on Highway 401 in Ontario

Three people are dead and another person has serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Ontario.
Emergency crews were called to the collision around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday in the westbound lanes of the highway, west of the County Road 40 interchange in Quinte West, west of Belleville, OPP said.
A mini-van collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer, police said. Traffic in the area had slowed or stopped due another collision father west, police said.
Police said two people in the minivan, a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. An eight-month-old baby was later pronounced dead in the hospital. A four-year-old child was transported to a trauma centre in Toronto by Ornge Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
All four people are from Laval, Quebec, police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Westbound lanes of Highway 401 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
The investigation continues.
