New fitness classes are being offered at a massive 22,000 sq. ft facility in Mississauga by Elite Martial Arts.
They’re of Mississauga and Toronto’s most popular martial arts centres and are now offering their renowned programs in Mississauga as one of the only places in the city to teach women’s self-defence classes and unique martial arts styles.
The classes, open to adults and teenagers 15 and up, are being offered at a dedicated space inside Wynn Fitness at 6750 Mississauga Road in Meadowvale — a huge 22,000 sq. ft facility which offers students state-of-the-art fitness equipment and high-class amenities, a juice bar, pool, lockers, change rooms, showers, and a sauna.
Not only are these classes popular among adults, they’re a great opportunity to get the teens away from the screens and into an active environment where they’ll have fun and feel confident about their self-defence skills.
Space is limited and memberships are first come, first served, so be sure to sign up soon.
With their current class menu, Elite Martial Arts is one of the only places in Mississauga offering lessons in women’s self-defence, the Israeli martial art style Krav Maga, and the Muay Thai martial art style from Thailand, all under one roof.
The program is staffed with some of the industry’s best and most experienced instructors, and is run by Dan Novak, a renowned martial arts expert who holds a second-degree black belt in Krav Maga and the Muay Thai rank of Kru Yai (meaning “headmaster”). He has competed in Muay Thai both in Canada and internationally, and has spent extensive time training in Thailand with the Sport Authority in Bangkok.
“We are an award-winning Krav Maga and Muay Thai training centre that has been in business for over 10 years in our Toronto location, and we are very happy to be serving Meadowvale and the surrounding areas of Mississauga and Peel Region,” said EMA Owner and Head Instructor Dan Novak.
Here’s what to expect at the centre:
Classes to help women learn and become confident in their self-defence abilities.
Although the classes at Elite Martial Arts are co-ed and inclusive for all, Elite Martial Arts has long been regarded as an industry leader in women’s self-defence, and they’ve brought these popular classes to Wynn Fitness. The goal of the program is to empower students with the knowledge and skills to help them feel confident in any situation that may require self-defence.
Each class provides a 30-minute full body workout, followed by a technical portion of martial arts tactics that are specific to common attacks which can often happen to females (as well as males) in a variety of real world situations.
“I have only been at Elite Martial Arts for about three months and have already felt like I’ve learned so many useful skills for use in many potential everyday situations,” said a female student who particularly liked the Women’s Self Defence Krav Maga classes, which she said provided a safe, fun and encouraging space for beginners.
Expert instruction to help you master the martial arts styles of Krav Maga and Muay Thai.
Krav Maga is an excellent self-defence system based on natural reactions and human instinct, designed to eliminate a threat as quickly and efficiently as possible. The program covers all aspects of self-defence from unarmed combat to weapons defence and ground fighting. The program is well-rounded and thorough, promising that even students with zero prior experience will become quite proficient after just a few classes. Krav Maga is a popular option for those looking for practical and simple real world self-defence. Elite Martial Arts’ Krav Maga program is licensed by the Martial Arts International Union.
Another option for students at the centre is Muay Thai, which incorporates effective self-defence techniques using punches, elbows, knees and kicks, as well as the corresponding clinches for close-quarters combat. The program is catered to students of all skill and fitness levels, from complete beginners to advanced fighters, and is a favorite among students. The Muay Thai program is licensed by the Sports Authority of Thailand, and Elite Martial Arts operates under a direct affiliation with renowned Canadian National Muay Thai coach Ajahn Suchart.
Special guest seminars from some of the best martial artists in the world.
There’s a lot of valuable lessons that can be learned from experienced martial artists, and Elite Martial Arts has access to some of the best in the world. In addition to their regular classes, the centre often has pro martial artists come to provide special guest seminars and directly teach students everything they know – making it a world-class centre for students to learn from experience and from the valuable wisdom of those who have dedicated their lives to the craft.
Programs are geared towards adults and teenagers 15 and up. In addition to competitive pricing, each program has one free trial class at the start so that new students know what to expect.
Elite Martial Arts says these programs aren’t just good for becoming experienced in martial arts and combat techniques – they provide a variety of physical and mental health benefits, including increased stamina, weight loss/management, strength training, and cardio endurance.
The classes have already amassed a ton of positive reviews from satisfied students.
“Dan and the entire Elite Martial Arts team are amazing teachers and motivators. If you’ve ever thought about trying Krav Maga or Muay Thai, this is absolutely the place to do it,” said a review.
