After a week of mostly rain, southern Ontario is continuing its streak with more wet conditions and the possibility of thunderstorms.

For those who appreciate a stunning morning sky, today’s sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., though clouds may obscure it, potentially dimming the usual colourful hues.

Residents of Mississauga, Brampton, and Durham Region wake up to mostly cloudy skies, while Halton and Hamilton will experience a mix of sun and clouds.

There is a 60 per cent chance that Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham will get rain beginning in the morning and into the afternoon. Though it isn’t anticipated to rain in Hamilton, it will be quite windy with speeds starting at 30 km/h and picking up through the day to 60 km/h before calming down by the evening.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 22 C in Mississauga, Brampton and Halton, while in Hamilton, it will be 21 C, and Durham will see 20 C.

The UV index is expected to reach a high level of 6 across all cities.

Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the UV index is three or higher, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

It will also feel slightly uncomfortable with the humidex hitting 25.

Additionally, Health Canada says that if outdoors, individuals should seek shade, wear protective clothing and hats, apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, avoid tanning, use UV-protective sunglasses and stay hydrated throughout the day.

Sunset begins at 8:26 p.m.—six minutes earlier than last week.

By evening, skies will become predominantly cloudy across the region. There is a 60 percent chance that rain will return and could turn into an overnight thunderstorm. Brisk winds will also gust at 40 km/h before easing by late evening.

Temperatures will fall to a cooler, autumn-like range of 13 C to 14 C.

A few more rainy days are on the horizon before sunshine and clear skies return on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday,  residents can expect a mix of sunshine, clouds, and rain.
