Aug. 24 Weather: Hot, sunny weekend on tap for southern Ontario

The weekend is bringing the heat in Mississauga and southern Ontario.

Temperatures will continue to climb on Saturday (Aug. 24) to a weeklong high of 28 degrees Celsius, says Environment Canada.

It will be sunny to start the day with a mix of sun and cloud arriving in the afternoon. While the high will be 28 degrees Celsius, it will feel a much warmer 32 degrees Celsius when you factor in the humidex.

The UV index will be 7 or high.

The evening skies will be clear to set up what’s expected to be three straight days of sunshine beginning on Sunday.

The overnight low Saturday will be a cool14 degrees Celsius.

The days continue to grow shorter with five minutes less of daytime on Saturday. The sun will rise at 6:33 a.m. and then is going to set at 8:08 a.m.

In all, there will be 13 hours and 26 minutes of daylight time.
