Assault charge for Brampton man after construction site ‘disturbance’

A man from Brampton faces a criminal charge following an assault that occurred at a Fergus, Ont., construction site.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) state that officers from its Wellington County detachment responded to an assault at the work site on Rae Dr. at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 2).

“It was reported that two parties were involved in a disturbance, and one of the two had sustained minor injuries,” the OPP stated.

As a result of the investigation, Dwayne P. Hazzard, 44, of Brampton, has been charged with assault with a weapon under the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Guelph court next month.

The investigation remains active, and Wellington County OPP say any person with information regarding this incident should contact the detachment (1-888-310-1122).
