The Beachway in Burlington is about to get an injection of culture.
About 10 writers and visual artists are needed for their work to be showcased on temporary signs along the Beachway’s multi-use path during Culture Days.
The two-kilometre trail runs along Lake Ontario from Spencer Smith Park to the canal in Burlington. The public art signs will be near the playground, pumphouse and pavilion.
To participate you must be a Burlington resident.
The public art program is accepting all art forms that can be presented in a sign format. This includes, but is not limited to:
- visual art
- graphic art
- photography
- poetry
- short stories
- non-fiction, etc.
Submissions are due July 29 and may be from existing or newly created work. One submission per writer or artist will be accepted.
Culture Days is an annual event that runs for three weeks across the province.
It celebrates arts, culture and heritage through experiences outdoors, indoors and online. This year’s event runs from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13, 2024.
