Arson investigation in Milton results in charges for Brampton man

An arson investigation in Milton has led to the arrest of a suspect from Brampton.

A tractor-trailer burst into flames in a parking lot at 326 Bronte St. around 4 a.m. on Oct. 2. By the time first responders arrived to the scene, the truck was fully engulfed in flame. However, Milton Fire and Rescue Services were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.

Halton Regional Police immediately launched an investigation and found the blaze was arson. Investigators found gasoline poured over several other trucks in the lot, though this had not been ignited. A nearby pickup truck was also damaged.

On Nov 12, police raided a Brampton home and arrested a man there. Kumar Vinit, 31, faces two charges of arson and mischief over $5,000.
