Arrest made in shooting incident this summer in Brampton

A 24-year-old man is facing multiple gun charges in connection with a shooting investigation that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for multiple victims earlier this summer in Brampton.

The shooting incident took place back on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, near Gardenbrooke Trail and Castlemore Road.

“The suspect met with the victims and allegedly shot at them multiple times,” said Peel Regional Police. “The victims suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries as a result.”

Rahul Sahota, 24, of Brampton was arrested on Monday (Oct. 7) and is charged with:

  • Discharge Firearm with intent
  • Attempt Murder (x 2)
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Sahota was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
