Arrest made after man shot dead in Mississauga on Friday

Peel police have made an arrest following yesterday’s shooting that killed a man.
On Friday, Dec. 30, around 11 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting in a park area near Brass Winds Place, just east of Mavis Rd., north of Hwy. 401.
Despite the efforts of first responders, 42-year-old Hammad Shaikh died at the scene of a gunshot wound.
Farhan Durrani, a 34-year-old man from Mississauga, is facing a first degree murder charge.
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on today.
The victim and the accused are known to each other. Investigators do not believe there to be any outstanding suspects.
