Peel police shooting in Brampton

A North York man and three youths from Toronto are facing charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Brampton electronics store on Thursday.

Robbery investigators with Peel Regional Police say employees inside the store, located near Bouvaird Drive and Great Lakes Drive, were forced to the ground while four culprits armed with a weapon and wearing disguises grabbed “a significant quantity of electronics and then fled to a waiting vehicle outside.”

Police say the victims were not injured.

With help from York Regional Police, Peel robbery investigators subsequently located four people in a stolen vehicle near Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27 in Etobicoke.

All stolen property and a weapon used in the robbery were recovered, according to police.

Jaiden Johnson-Reid, 18, of North York, and a 17-year-old male and two 15-year-old boys, all of Toronto, are charged with robbery, wearing a disguise and possession of stolen property.

They were held for bail hearings scheduled in Brampton court.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the three younger suspects cannot be named.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, ext. 3410, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
