Armed robbery at Brampton grocery store, suspect on the run

Police take steps to better support South Asian community with new support team in Mississauga and Brampton

Police are on the hunt for a man following an armed hold-up at a grocery store in Brampton on Friday (Dec. 9).

Peel Regional Police say officers were called to a grocery store in the area of Main St. and Nanwood Dr. in Brampton just after 11:00 a.m. for reports of a robbery.

The suspect fled the store on foot, and police did not say whether any merchandise or cash was taken. No injuries were reported, but police say a weapon was seen during the incident.

Police say the suspect is a Black male, possibly in his 40’s. He is described as being 6-feet-tall, and was wearing a blue and white puffy jacket with a hood, dark jeans, a backpack, and had a green and white grocery bag at the time of the robbery.
