Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services say they’re responding to a hazmat incident in the Malton area this evening (Apr. 23).
The call originally came in as medical call, with three people having trouble breathing at an apartment building in the area of Morning Star Dr and Goreway Dr.
Mississauga Fire says other people in the building are now complaining of the same issue.
Police say an odour has been reported at the scene.
Officers are assisting with evacuating residents from the six-storey building, and a Toronto paramedics bus is en route to the scene.
It’s currently unknown how long it’ll be until residents can return to their apartments.
The call originally came in shortly before 10 p.m.
UPDATE: Police say emergency services could not locate any issues with the building’s air quality. All residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
