Yet another Brampton jewelry store has been the victim of a robbery as police forces across southern Ontario are looking into whether a string of smash-and-grabs are connected.

Peel Regional Police say that Elegant Goldsmith Jewelry in Brampton’s Bramalea City Centre was held up in a smash-and-grab robbery around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

A police spokesperson tells Insauga.com that four male suspects entered the store and began smashing display cases before selecting items and placing them in duffle bags.

The four suspects then fled to a waiting getaway vehicle, police say.

Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington and Niagara Region have all seen recent jewelry store robberies, including a smash-and-grab caught on video where the thieves used hammers to smash open display cases.

Other incidents include a Brampton jewelry store that was temporarily closed after a vehicle crashed through the shop in an attempted robbery, and a smash-and-grab at Burlington’s Mapleview Shopping Centre.

Peel police believe the same suspects are responsible for both a Jan. 17 heist at a Square One jewelry store in Mississauga and a Dec. 8 robbery at Bramalea City Centre, and investigators have said they’re collaborating with other police services to determine if the rash of incidents are connected.

Police have released descriptions of the four suspects in Wednesday’s robbery, but no details about the alleged getaway vehicle have been released.

Suspect No.1 is described as a Black male between 18 and 20 years old with a light completion wearing a black puffer jacket, black pants, black shoes, white socks, a black duffle bag, gloves and a mask.

Suspect No.2 is described as a Black male between 18 and 20 years wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a black duffle bag, gloves and a mask.

Suspect No.3 is described as a Black male wearing an all black hoodie, black jacket, black shoes with blue soles and a blue mask.

Suspect No.4 is described as a Black or Asian male wearing a grey hoodie with a Maple Leafs logo, black pants, black shoes, gloves and a mask.
