Animal services rescues skunk with head stuck in jar in Brampton

An animal control officer recently came to the rescue of a skunk that had its head stuck in a peanut butter jar in Brampton.

On Wednesday, March 20, Brampton Animal Services says it received a call for the animal in distress.

“He was only looking for some food and smelled the peanut butter, and unfortunately got his head stuck inside of the jar,” said Brampton Animal Services.

An officer attended the scene and was able to safely free the skunk from the jar.

She then assessed the animal for injuries, found that it was unharmed, and released it.

The incident has caused the city’s animal control to remind residents not to litter, especially when it comes to waste items containing food, which can often attract wild animals.

“Litter is an attractant to wildlife, so let’s work together on keeping our communities clean to avoid these types of accidents that can be detrimental to these animals,” Animal Services said.
