Alleged social media and website harasser faces charge in Brampton

Investigators with the Peel Police say they have identified and charged a Woodbridge man with harassing a woman online using and leveraging social media and website platforms.
On Tuesday (Jan. 18), Peel Regional Police disclosed an outcome from “an in-depth investigation that spanned several years” by investigators from the 22 Division criminal investigation bureau. They have identified Sandro Cappuccitti, a 46-year-old man from Woodbridge, as the alleged suspect involved in continuous online harassment of a woman known to him.

Cappuccitti was arrested on Dec. 11. He was charged with criminal harassment and held pending a bail hearing. He appeared in a Brampton court the next day.
The Peel police’s media release did not say whether investigators believe there could be additional victims. But they have asked with information regarding this matter or similar incidents is asked to contact the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-3311, ext. 2233.
