Ontario’s wine country just got a new hotel inspired by Scottish living, according to YourCityWithIN, as the newly minted Scotsman Hotel has just had its grand opening in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Originally a post office, then later converted into an inn, the Scotsman Hotel aims to provide a classic look and feel across its five available suites, which are dubbed The Dornoch, The Balmoral, The Prestonfield, The Calle and The Owner’s Suite. Loaded with a king-size bed and in-floor heating, both The Balmoral and The Prestonfield can even be closed off to create a separate wing that — once amenities are added up — includes two king beds, two walk-in showers, a clawfoot tub and a double sink vanity.
Additionally, the hotel has a lounge designed to provide a luxury Scottish-style breakfast, which can be booked alongside the rooms for group trips, business retreats, and weddings.
Brenda and Blair McArthur (the owners) took inspiration from their travels in Scotland and their engagement in Niagara-on-the-Lake, which they then hybridized to create the blueprint for The Scotsman Hotel.
“The Scotsman Hotel is a tribute to all of the love and fond memories we have made in this beautiful town,” said Brenda McArthur, owner of The Scotsman Hotel, in a statement.
“We hope that all who visit experience the enchanting feeling that is woven through the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.”
Rates start at $1,125, and booking times are available as soon as now. For those looking for a taste of the highlands without the hassle of travel, The Scotsman Hotel may be the answer.
