A care home worker from Caledon is facing charges of assault after a pair of alleged elder abuse incidents and police say there could be more victims.
Last Friday, York Regional Police say officers were informed about cases of elder abuse at a care home in Vaughan.
Investigators say it was reported that an 89-year-old male resident was assaulted by a personal support worker (PSW) on two separate occasions, the first on Jan. 29 and then again on Feb. 2.
Now police say a 32-year-old from Caledon was arrested on Friday and has been charged with two counts of assault.
And while charges have been laid in these alleged assaults, police say there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Suman Soni, 32, of Caledon has been charged with two counts of assault.
Police have released a picture of the accused and say anyone with information should contact the York Regional Police by calling 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7441. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.1800222tips.com.
