Two Mississauga residents face charges after police found various drugs worth $40,000 and $70,000 in stolen power tools inside a home in the city’s east end.

Peel Regional Police said a drug trafficking investigation carried out with Halton Regional Police led to the execution of a search warrant on Oct. 24 at a Ponytrail Drive townhouse, just east of Fieldgate Drive.

The search, conducted by Peel tactical squad members in addition to other officers with both Peel and Halton forces, led to the seizure of:

  • 171 suspected hydromorphone tablets

Total value of the drugs recovered is pegged at about $40,000, Peel police said in a news release.

The same search also led police to “a large quantity of stolen power tools” valued at more than $70,000.

Police believe the power tools are linked to several thefts or break-and-enters in Mississauga and investigators are working to identify the victims, investigators said.
