$70 million lottery ticket sold in Ontario

Someone who bought a Lotto Max ticket in Ontario for Tuesday’s draw is now $70 million richer.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said the ticket that took home the Aug. 20 jackpot was sold in the Timiskaming—Cochrane area in northern Ontario.

The OLG said if you live in the region or were visiting and bought a ticket for Tuesday’s draw, you may have the “life-changing” ticket.

A number of Maxmillion prizes were also won, with 14 in total across Canada, seven of which were won in Ontario, the OLG said.

In Ontario, $1 million prizes were won by tickets sold in Mississauga, Toronto, Peterborough and Ottawa.

A Maxmillion ticket worth $333,333.40 was also sold in Toronto, with the prize shared with two other tickets sold in Western Canada.

And two $1 million prizes were won by tickets sold on OLG.ca.

In terms of Encore, a $1 million prize was won by a ticket sold in Unionville, and tickets sold in Kingston and Ottawa won $100,000 each.

“Thousands of other great prizes were won in Ontario as well, so please check your tickets as soon as possible on the OLG app or at a retailer near you,” the OLG said.

Friday’s Lotto Max draw will have a $40 million jackpot.
