6 new restaurants that opened in June in Mississauga

From fine dining experiences to fast food favourites, this month’s restaurant openings in Mississauga had mouth-watering options for every palette.
As the name goes, ‘Karak’- simply refers to a strong brewed cup of tea, in which the restaurant offers an entire menu of special blends and an array of stuffed naans to go with it.
These specialty chai blends are described as burst of flavors and aromas, including their Mango Chai- ‘A Tropical mango and coconut chai with star anise, spicy ginger and cardamom.’
The brews of chai even have unique names such as ‘Bollywood organic chai’ and the ‘Unicorn punch.’
As for the naan’s you may want to try some of their traditional favorites such as Achari chicken, chicken tikka and butter chicken.
For those seeking a fusion twist, options like smoked brisket, BBQ chicken, and chicken Mexicano is also available.
Hungree Birdz opened at 360 Lakeshore Rd. W. in Port Credit expanding the current restaurant at the location, Maggie’s Diner, with its evening hours.
Maggie’s Diner continues to open during the day – Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with all-day breakfast, lunch and desserts — and Hungree Birdz takes over after 4 p.m.
The restaurant specializes in burgers which include beef cheeseburgers, grilled or crispy chicken burgers and a veggie option. A new crispy, potato patty veggie burger is coming soon.
And they serve veggie, chicken or beef wraps.
Plus the menu includes three different types of wings – regular, buffalo and barbecue.
For the poutine lovers, there are three choices — classic, beef and chicken poutine.
The Park— located at 1107 Lorne Park Road, in Mississauga the restaurant offers a new level of dining experience for patrons with its prime beef, fine wine and hand-crafted cocktails.
For appetizers, the restaurant has options like beef or tuna tartare, garlic clams, cocktail shrimp, and crab cakes.
In entrees, the restaurant serves a variety of options for seafood fans, from sea bass to salmon, and even scallops— all of which come with a side of vegetables. Some options include brussels sprouts, fennel, honey mushrooms, corn, white beans and tomatoes.
There are even handmade pasta dishes such as the pappardelle bolognese and spaghetti carbonara which are a crowd favourite.
For proteins there is the choice between the grilled chicken paillard or the rack of lamb— both come with a variety of vegetables.
For meat lovers, the restaurant prides itself on serving steaks that are USDA prime approved.
The steak cut options include the 8 oz or 12 oz filet mignon, New York strip, ribeye steak (with or without bone) and the tomahawk steak.
Fast Fired By Carbone, which started in Manitoba, opened a location at 6111 Erin Mills Parkway, Unit 2, in Mississauga.
The wood-fired pizza place works on a build-your-own pie model.
According to the restaurant website, “We’re giving you free rein to design your dream pizza,” Fast Fired says on its website. “Whether your motto is ‘go wild or go home’ or ‘keep this simple stupid’ were handing over creative control.”
But there are also traditional choices on the menu including classics such as the Margherita, pepperoni, or Hawaiian.
More interesting pizzas include the Butter Chicken Pizza and Modern Fiesta.
There are even vegan and gluten free options as well.
Burger Factory opened its sixth location in Mississauga recently.
Signature menu items include the Juicy Lucy, a burger stuffed with cheddar cheese; and the Juicy Lucy on Fire, stuffed with mozzarella cheese and jalapenos.
There’s also a massive burger called The Compressor — a jaw-breaking triple cheeseburger. There is also a veggie option, chicken and Philly cheesesteaks plus tornado fries.
For dessert, funnel cakes come topped with powdered sugar, ice cream, strawberry, chocolate, caramel, oreo, or whipped cream.
If your sweet tooth is sending all kinds of cravings to your brain, you can trick it by indulging in a ‘healthy treat.’
Mr. Coco is a shop that takes your favourite desserts and creates a healthy version using coconuts.
“Our products are made with pure, natural coconut, offering you a delicious and guilt-free choice,” Mr. Coco writes on Instagram.
Dessert items combine coconut water, coconut milk, coconut cream mixed with condensed milk, with fruit or other flavours. The desserts are served in a coconut shell.
Choices include mixed fruit, Oreo, Mango Pearl, Matcha, Nutty Almond, and Cocoa Coco.
There is also the Mini Coco Jelly in four flavours — original, mixed fruit, Nutty Almond and Cocoa Coco.
And there are cold coconut-based drinks for a hot summer day — such as the Pineapple Explosion and Coconut Latte.
