6 fun things to do this winter at Port Credit in Mississauga

This winter, Port Credit is once again one of Mississauga’s top spots for food, shops, and fun winter activities for the whole family.

The popular waterfront community has officially kicked off #WinterINThePort, a holiday festival with events ranging from beloved yearly traditions to new openings and celebrations.

Here’s what to expect at Port Credit this winter:

A holiday contest with three huge prizes up for grabs

Until Dec. 24, shoppers who make a purchase at any Port Credit BIA business will be entered into a draw to win a one-night stay at the Waterside Inn and a $100 gift certificate #INThePort. The second-place prize is a $100 gift certificate and third place is a $50 gift certificate, all of which can be redeemed at participating Port Credit BIA shops and restaurants. Shoppers can see the rules and enter the contest via the online form.

McGregor Carollers #INThePort

Get into the festive mood with the sweet sounds of timeless Christmas carols and holiday favourites. The McGregor Carollers, a Victorian Christmas carolling quartet dressed in classic Dickens era-styled costumes, will be back on Dec. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. They can be found roaming through the Port and performing at various Port Credit storefronts.

Photos with Santa #INThePort

It’s not the holidays without getting a photo with Santa himself. He’ll be at the Port Credit Lighthouse on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to take pictures at the beautiful #WinterINThePort Nutcracker installation. Everyone’s welcome to come get a photo with Santa, including kids, dogs, and those who are kids at heart.

Look at beautiful display windows and vote for your favourite

Shoppers strolling through the Port this winter will see tons of shops and restaurants have set up gorgeous holiday display windows. Show some love for Port Credit’s local businesses by voting for your favourite display window, and the top 3 holiday displays will be entered into a draw to WIN a $100 #INThePort Gift Certificate. Don’t forget to snap some photos of these stunning holiday displays.

Enjoy FREE holiday treats while strolling through the Port

On December 16 and 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., participating stores will be giving away FREE holiday treats.  Stop by for a hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, and funnel cake!

Grand opening celebration for the new skating trail

Save the date – a huge celebration will be held in January 2024 to commemorate the new 220-metre skating path at Port Credit Memorial Park. Lace up those skates and hit the ice while checking out live performances, music from the DJ, holiday treats, and even more entertainment for the whole family.
