Two companies have pledged to support the conversion of Brampton’s existing Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness health care facility into a new hospital.
Today (Oct. 17), National Homes and Brixen Developments announced that they have partnered to contribute $500,000 over the next five years to the project. Once complete, the new William Osler Health System hospital will feature a new multi-storey patient tower, new and enhanced outpatient services and day programs and the expansion of the existing urgent care centre to 24/7 operations.
In recognition of the contribution, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and council presented a gift to the donors at a recent public event–a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey signed by John Tavares.
As of now, the growing city is currently only served by one full-service hospital.
According to a news release, National Homes and Brixen Developments have donated the signed jersey back to the hospital, where it will be gifted to a child in need.
“We can think of half a million reasons why we love Brampton,” said Jason Pantalone, president and CEO managing partner of National Homes.
“We’ve developed thousands of acres in Brampton and built roughly 6,000 homes there since 1992.”
