A list of the most affordable homes in Canada includes two properties in Ontario.

The real estate latest reports suggest the market has slowed in recent months. However, a detached home in the GTA will still cost over $1 million.

The average price of a detached home in Mississauga was at $1,551,752 in June, and a condo will cost about $626,081, according to the latest real estate report.

These prices are out of reach for many buyers but there are other options out there.

Using current listings, real estate brokerage Zoocasa put together a list of five of the most affordable homes available in July across Canada.

It may not come as a surprise that detached homes in the western part of Canada are less expensive than tiny, one-bedroom condos in Mississauga. But there are some bargains to be had in Ontario if you are willing to move away from the GTA.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home has an open-concept design with hardwood floors. The large, landscaped backyard features a deck, patio and attached garage.

This two-storey, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home sits on a peaceful cul-de-sac. There is a formal dining room, a small kitchen with a corner pantry and a light-filled living room.

This three-bedroom, one-bathroom home is a two-storey craftsman-style house. It is close to downtown and a walking trail network.

This place is listed for $399,999.

This four-bedroom hilltop house features a large eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, main floor bedroom and two staircases leading to the second level. This house has had several renovations over the years.

This place was listed for $229,900 but appears to have recently sold.
