5 motels for sale now in Ontario

Those looking to own a business with live-in potential may want to check out motels for sale in Ontario.

Motels have made a comeback with savvy entrepreneurs converting them into stylish places to stay.

The June Motel is Sauble Beach was the focus of the Netflix show Motel Makeover in 2021.

The motels listed for sale in Ontario right now are in tourist locations and some are bargains — priced at less than a home in the GTA.

Here are five motels for sale right now:

Niagara Falls

A popular tourist location, this motel in Niagara Falls could be a money maker. The Niagara Parkway Court Motel at 3708 Main St. in Niagara Falls is currently listed for sale.

The motel has 19 rooms and a four-bedroom home is attached making it “perfect for family who wants to live and work,” the listing says.

This motel is listed for $2,300,000.

Manitoulin Island

Another tourist spot, the Huron Motor Lodge, has views of Lake Huron and is across from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry Terminal to the island.

Located at 24 Water St., South Baymouth, this place has 18 units and an attached gift shop. It is in the centre of town near the public marina, a museum, hiking trails and restaurants.

It has been in the same family for over 60 years.

This place is cheaper than a GTA home, listed at $995,000.

Cache Bay

The Paradise Motel, located at 11702 Highway 17, between North Bay and Sudbury, offers a chance to go into business for less than you would pay for a Toronto condo unit.

This place has six motel rooms and a two-bedroom attached apartment plus a chalet. Situated on a busy highway, the motel has great exposure. The property needs TLC but is priced to sell, the listing states.

It is listed for $549,000.

Magnetawan 

The Quiet Bay Inn at 5333 Highway 124 is in a quiet spot east of Parry Sound. This place features 10 rooms with vaulted ceilings, front and back entrances and kitchenettes. The property has both an outdoor pool and a view of Ahmic Lake. The on-site café is also listed for sale.

This place is listed for $999,000.

Seeleys Bay

Located in eastern Ontario, north of Gananoque, the Bay Motel sits on a 3.3-acre lot at 299 15 Highway. The motel has 11 units plus a detached home for the owner. The motel also includes a gift shop and restaurant.

There is potential to convert the units into long-term rentals, according to the listing.
